Level up your tumbling through our specialized classes tailored to all skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an advanced athlete ready to reach new skills, our specialized tumbling classes are designed to support your athlete every step of the way. With expert instruction and personalized guidance, we provide the tools and techniques you need to progress and excel in your tumbling skills.

TINY
TOTS

Once they learn to walk, they quickly learn to RUN!  With the help of our high energy Island Coaches, now it’s time to tumble!  The skills that our “littles” learn in this class are all about beginning to develop strength, body awareness, skill shapes, and the confidence to create the Building Blocks to ALL future levels. Our Tiny Tots class Coaches use challenging and fun, age appropriate drills, hands on spotting, and fun stations to help make their skill progression so much easier.  The skills they will learn in this class are:

  • Handstand
  • Forward Roll
  • Backward Roll
  • Cartwheel
  • Power Hurdle
  • Bridge
  • Bridge Kickover

BEGINNER
LEVEL 1

The skills that athletes learn in Beginner Level 1 lay a foundation to building their tumbling skills at ALL levels in the future. This will significantly help make their skill progression so much easier, as they move to higher levels.  Our high energy team of Island Coaches will use fun and challenging drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations to help build skills. This class has no prerequisites and is geared towards athletes with little to no tumbling experience. Athletes will learn the following:

  • Handstand
  • Forward Roll
  • Backward Roll
  • Cartwheel
  • Power Hurdle
  • Bridge
  • Bridge Kickover

ADVANCED
LEVEL 1

In Advanced 1, athletes will begin to build on skills learned in the previous level, while beginning to make them into more elite skills. Coaches will use a mix of drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

  • Round Off
  • Front Walkover
  • Back Walkover 
  • Back Walkover Switch Leg
  • Connected/Specialty Passes
  • Front Walkover – Cartwheel – Back Walkover 

BEGINNER
LEVEL 2

In Beginner 2, athletes will take the ability and comfort of “reaching and falling” onto their hands, and begin to “reach and jump” onto them. Our Island Coaches will use fun and creative drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations to help athletes learn proper shapes and explosive power in order to create solid skills. Athletes will gain the understanding of how the Back Handspring, when done with proper technique, creates power for future skills. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

  • Back Handspring
  • Standing Back Handspring
  • Roundoff Back Handspring
  • Cartwheel Back Handspring

ADVANCED
LEVEL 2

In this class, athletes will focus on using their Back Handspring to build more power. They will begin to gain an understanding of tumbling angles and speed to create higher rebounds, in preparation for the next level. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Our team of Island Coaches will use challenging and fun drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations to helps athletes gain the following skills:

  • Back Handspring Step Out
  • Back Handspring Step Out, Back Walkover, Back Handspring
  • Round Off Back Handspring Series
  • Back Handspring Stepout
  • Back Handspring Stepout – Back Walkover – Back Handspring
  • Roundoff Multiple Back Handspring (with Strong Rebound)

LEVEL 3

In Level 3, athletes will use previous skills to make their running, tumbling passes end in tucks and more. Our Island Coaches will continue teaching athletes’ connections with Back Handspring variations to multiple Back Handsprings, and introduce Aerial skills as well. Athletes will gain a solid understanding of the power and angles needed to level up and improve upon higher skills. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. With the help of our Coaches, athletes will use a combination of drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations to help athletes learn the following skills:

  • Standing Back Handspring Series
  • Round Off Back Handspring Tuck
  • Front Walkover Round Off Back Handspring Tuck (Round Off Tuck)
  • Punch Front
  • Aerial
  • Standing Multiple Back Handsprings (and variations)
  • Front Walkover/Bounder thru to Tuck

LEVEL 4

In Level 4, our Island Coaches will use variations of drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations in order to help athletes gain the elite level skills needed to level up. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. Athletes will learn the following:

  • Standing Tuck
  • Standing Back Handspring Series to Tuck
  • Round Off Back Handspring Layout
  • Specialty to Layout
  • Standing Back handspring to Tuck (and variations of this)
  • Punch Front Stepout or Whip thru to Layout

LEVEL 5 /
SPINNING

In Level 5/Spinning class, athletes will learn full and variations of fulls. Our highly trained Island Coaches will use challenging drills, hands on spotting and conditioning/strength stations to help athletes gain the understanding and ability to perform at the highest levels of Cheerleading. To register for this class athletes must have mastered all of the skills taught in the previous class. In this class, athletes will learn these skills:

  • Jump to Tuck
  • Standing Back Handspring to Layout
  • Standing 2 Back Handsprings to Layout
  • Standing Back Handspring-Whip-Layout
  • Round Off Back Handspring Full
  • Punch Front Step Out to Full
  • Round Off Back Handspring-Whip to Full
  • Toe Touch – Tuck
  • Back Handspring to Layout/ *Full (6+)*
  • Roundoff Back Handspring Full/*Double Full (L6+)*
  • Arabian thru to Full/*Double Full (L6+)*
  • Punch Front Stepout/ Whip to Layout/*Full or Double Full (6+)*
  • *Standing Full (6+)*

LEVEL 6

This class is currently available as an invitation only class. Once an athlete has mastered all of their Level 5 skills, they may be eligible for an invitation based on evaluation and space available. Athletes will learn the following:

  • Standing Full
  • Standing Back Handspring to Full
  • Standing Back Handspring Series to Double Full
  • Round Off Back Handspring Double Full
  • Specialty to Double Full
